I liked the characters in this film and the actors playing them. But the truth is this film falls short in its effort to examine sex addiction vs. the complexity of love and relationships. I suppose it is easy to dismiss this work as a well produced soft porn flick. It seems to want to be much more. The problem is the characters are not all that well

developed. We do not know what the two principal characters find in each other that will transcend their heavy breathing. They say they love each other eventually, but who knows why? Frankly I have know idea what the lead female character has to offer in terms of substance. At least the male character is seen reading Steppenwolf and not the cliff notes version, either. So I guess we can deduce he has depth and intelligence.

The female lead, however, seems to work in photo developing shop as a clerk. Yet she has quite a varied wardrobe which she somehow is able to afford. That's about it in terms of her personality and depth. But they do have attractive bods and I must guiltily admit I enjoyed that. If the sex scenes were edited out, the theater would be empty half way through any screening

I read the reviews and I find it hard to believe if those guys were watching the same movie.:) Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie's on-screen chemistry was simply sweeping. Both wildly passionate, destructive and real. They looked awesome, they played fantastic, they built a romance of extremities and devotion that felt electrifying.

And yes, the story has the narrative of a romantic-thriller fairy tale, and the atmosphere of a 19-th century romantic adventure, it's not meant to be Anna Karenina, nor does it have to. The plot also had its downsides and weaknesses.

But then again, the lead couple made an on-screen jewel. It has my complete respect and long-lasting attention - that's a story I come back to, from time to time. Hope you enjoy it too

Unfaithful is an achingly sad portrayal of the lives that two very different men lead, and the woman who shares their lives in two very different ways. Diana Lane is beautiful. She is an exquisitely sensitive actor and so we can forgive her more than we would another woman who breaks the heart of her husband and tears asunder a marital life that most can only dream of.

But, here's the thing. Desire is what motivates all of us, whether we are buying a bar of chocolate or choosing which sport to watch. Desire is in us all. After years of fidelity, a beautiful woman has the chance to experience the thrill of another beautiful man's desire, a younger man, an adventurous man, who reignites something in her that was buried for some time, or successfully resisted on other occasions in the past. That desire could have easily fuelled her husband's desire for another, younger, adventurous woman. But it was his wife who was in Manhattan on that blustery day. It was his wife who collided with the handsome, adventurous bookseller who put temptation in her way. Temptation that she found irresistible.

The movie reminds us that, to live happily ever after as a married couple, we are asked to observe fidelity forever. But forever is a very long time. And that is what is so heartbreaking. True love is divine. This married couple have it. The irony is that we search for it, sometimes all our lives, and when we are fortunate enough to find it, we thank heaven for it. Sad and heartbreaking that, having found it, some stray away from it only to recognise their error when it is much too late. Unfaithful is an uneasy reminder that, like Psyche and Cupid, we can be blessed by the Gods and that we ignore that blessing at our own peril

Now living in London, crime-thriller novelist Catherine Trammell is arrested on suspicion of murder after being involved in a sex- and drug-fueled car accident that leaves her lover dead. Her crass lack of emotion prompts police detective Roy Washburn to bring in psychiatrist Dr. Michael Glass to determine if she poses a risk to herself or others. Although Michael testifies that she is indeed dangerous, Catherine is released on a technicality but visits the doctor for treatment of her “risk addiction.” Against his own professional ethics, Michael agrees, and Catherine begins trying to seduce him.

Then people start dying—people who pose a risk to Michael’s career, people sexually involved with Catherine, people being questioned by police detective Roy Washburn. As the victims pile up, Michael finds himself developing a deeper sexual attachment to Catherine even while becoming more convinced that she’s a cold-blooded killer.
